During April we have produced thesis binding for students from a multitude of different universities, undertaking a huge range of degrees. One university which was a regular source of thesis students in April was UCL – University College London. During the month we produced hard binding, soft binding and thermal binding for their students, many of whom were doing PhD’s. More information about our thesis binding for university students is available here.
Based in the heart of London, University College London (‘UCL’) is the leading multi-disciplinary university and is ranked 4th out of the top ten universities in the world, according to the QS World University Rankings (2013). It has over 4000 academic and research staff with an academic to student ratio of 1:10, so class sizes are small and individual student support unusually high. Moreover it is ranked in the top 2 universities in the UK for the number of professors teaching, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (2011), so students are supported by top experts in their fields and also benefit from visits from very distinguished guest speakers. There is a focus on research (for which UCL is extremely well funded) and academic excellence. UCL also has an excellent business ethos with support schemes for both existing and start-up businesses, particularly in London. It also partners with top hospitals around London where health research is conducted to continuously drive forward innovations in discovery and improve patient care generally.
