In the third bookbinding case study for this month, we show another recent bespoke bookbinding job, this one being for a custom sized hardback book. Like with the previous example, all printing, binding and lamination was produced in-house by The Document Centre here, close to London Bridge, in SE1.
The internal pages open beautifully flat due to the section-sewn approach to the binding and the book is full colour printed, both inside and out and finished to the outside with a protective and attractive lamination.
If you have any bespoke bookbinding, book repair or book restoration projects, The Document Centre are amongst the best and most experienced bookbinders in the business and can product anything from a simple repair to a run of several bespoke hard or softbound books. Whatever your job, we are both printers and binders (documents, books, albums etc.) so produce jobs in-house, completely from scratch, with the result that the final thing will look every bit as good as a new book you’d buy from a book store. The Document Centre has also been long associated with thesis binding, where we bind university students’ theses and dissertations to university specifications. For this service we have both a walk-in shop (10 minutes’ walk from London Bridge Station) and a full online ordering facility where students can upload their thesis in Acrobat PDF format, specify the number of copies and type of binding, plus any other optional extras, and simply leave the rest to us. We even deliver free to a number of London universities.
