We thought we’d publish some photos and details of some bespoke bookbinding which we produced, here at The Document Centre in London, during the month of December. These perfect bound books were glued and stitched for strength & durability, also allowing for heavier coated papers to be used as inner pages. The covers were produced using 300gsm card which, after printing, was matt laminated so as to give a lovely silky finish which also protects the books from water and damage etc.
Pricing for perfect binding currently starts at £30, including cover & lamination, with the inner pages charged as appropriate depending upon the number of pages and the nature of any printing required (e.g. black and white or colour etc.).
Perfect binding is fine for documents up to A4 portrait size. In-house we print to a maximum size of SRA3 (450mm x 320mm) so can bind in-house printed covers a little larger than A4 (finished/folded size) but of course can use one of our trade suppliers to print larger than that should the need for bookbinding at a larger scale arise. There are also, of course, many alternative bookbinding methods available at The Document Centre (click the bold link for more details).
If you have any printing and bespoke bookbinding requirements, contact The Document Centre hereor simply call 020 7928 9738. It may also be useful to know that hard, soft, wiro, thermal and velo bound jobs can be ordered online using our online thesis binding service (even if your job is not actually a university thesis).
